SEPTEMBER REFLECTIONS: A NEW SEASON, A FRESH CHAPTER
This summer (as in last week) marked a personal milestone for me: completing my Executive MBA. It’s been a journey of focus, late nights, long readings, and the kind of determination that only comes when you set your heart on a clear goal. Since coming home, I’ve felt deeply tired, as if my body is recalibrating after months and years of effort. It’s a strange mix of exhaustion and quiet pride. Crossing the finish line has reminded me of the quiet power of persistence - of showing up day after day, even when the path feels steep. And my body’s reaction now reflects how big endings often call for gentle pauses before the next beginning. Perhaps that’s why this seasonal shift feels especially poignant.
Now, as the leaves begin to turn and the air shifts towards autumn, I find myself reflecting not only on what has been achieved, but also on what’s next. Seasons have a way of nudging us to pause, take stock, and gently reorient. Autumn especially carries an invitation to slow down, to gather the lessons of the year so far, and to ask ourselves: How do I want to finish this year?
Perhaps for you it’s about tying up loose ends on a project, deepening a personal practice, or simply carving out more time for rest. Whatever it may be, this change of season is the perfect moment to step back and set an intention for the months ahead.
If you’d like a little inspiration, last year I wrote about autumn self-care practices – rituals and rhythms that support body and mind as the days grow shorter. Revisiting these simple gestures might help you create the steadiness needed to carry your bigger goals through to the end of the year.
Here’s my invitation to you: as autumn unfolds, take a quiet moment to reflect on where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you’d like to arrive by year’s end. The season is here to remind us that change is natural, that letting go makes space for renewal, and that growth continues in cycles.
What will your next chapter look like?
Much love, Mai
